Chatsapp Community Guidelines
Last Updated: 11 Febuary 2026
At Chatsapp, we believe every individual has the freedom and free will to speak their mind, share their ideas, and express themselves openly whenever they choose. Freedom of expression is at the heart of meaningful connection, creativity, and progress. However, with that freedom comes responsibility. To protect our community and maintain a positive environment, expression on our platform exists within clear boundaries and rules designed to prevent harm, abuse, and misuse. Our mission is to give our community a powerful voice while empowering users to communicate in a respectful and constructive way. We want Chatsapp to be a space where conversations inspire, creativity thrives, and people feel confident being themselves. That is why we have established our Community Guidelines — a framework built to protect both individual expression and collective safety. Every user who joins Chatsapp agrees to follow and respect these guidelines. By doing so, we ensure that our platform remains welcoming, secure, and supportive for everyone. Together, we are building more than just an app — we are building a community grounded in respect, accountability, and shared responsibility.
Community Guidelines Apply To All Users & User Generated Content
These Community Guidelines apply to every account created within our community and extend across every feature and interaction on the platform. This includes, but is not limited to, stories, usernames, display names, profile photos, profile content, bios, shared links, chats, channels, groups, direct messages, and all video or audio calls. Every piece of content created, shared, or communicated on Chatsapp falls within the scope of these standards.
Whether you are posting publicly, messaging privately, creating a group, joining a channel, or engaging in a live conversation, the same expectations of respect, safety, and responsibility apply. Our guidelines are designed to ensure consistency, protect users, and maintain a secure environment where everyone can participate with confidence. By using Chatsapp, you agree to uphold these standards in every interaction, helping us build a platform that is welcoming, trustworthy, and safe for all.
All our adverisers and partners who generate content in our community follow these standards so everyone is safe and treated equaly with the same respect as anyone else.
Sexual Content
We strictly prohibit all of the following:
Any form of sexual exploitation or abuse — particularly involving minors — is strictly and unequivocally prohibited on Chatsapp. This includes the sharing, saving, requesting, forwarding, or distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any format. It also includes grooming behaviour, sexual extortion (commonly known as sextortion), manipulation, coercion, or any attempt to sexualise a person under the age of 18. This rule applies without exception — including instances where an individual under 18 shares explicit content of themselves. Such material must never be posted, stored, requested, or circulated on our platform.
We actively report confirmed cases of child sexual exploitation, as well as credible attempts to engage in such conduct, to the appropriate authorities in accordance with UK law. This includes cooperation with the National Crime Agency (NCA), the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Command (CEOP), and other relevant UK or international authorities where legally required.
Any communication or behaviour intended to persuade, manipulate, deceive, intimidate, or coerce a minor for the purpose of sexual abuse or exploitation is strictly forbidden. This includes leveraging fear, shame, secrecy, gifts, threats, or emotional pressure to silence or control a minor. Attempts to build inappropriate relationships with minors under the guise of mentorship, friendship, or romantic interest will not be tolerated.
Beyond protections for minors, Chatsapp prohibits all other forms of sexual exploitation. This includes sex trafficking, sextortion, deceptive sexual practices, coercive behaviour intended to obtain intimate images, and any attempt to pressure or entice users into sharing nude or sexually explicit material.
The creation, distribution, or threat to distribute non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) is strictly banned. This includes intimate photos or videos shared without the clear consent of all individuals involved, as well as so-called “revenge pornography” or any attempt to threaten, blackmail, exploit, or expose individuals using private images or recordings without their consent.
All forms of sexual harassment are prohibited. This includes unwanted sexual advances, persistent or inappropriate messaging, sharing graphic or unsolicited explicit content, sending obscene requests, or making sexual comments intended to intimidate, degrade, or cause distress to another user.
Chatsapp does not permit the promotion, distribution, or sharing of pornographic content, including explicit photos, videos, or highly realistic animations, drawings, or digital renderings where the primary intention is sexual arousal. We also prohibit offers of sexual services, whether offline (such as escorting or erotic services) or online (including sexual chat or explicit video services).
We recognise that nudity may exist in legitimate, non-sexual contexts. Content such as breastfeeding, medical procedures, educational materials, artistic works, or other similar depictions may be permitted where there is no intent of sexual arousal or exploitation.
Our priority is to protect users — particularly children and vulnerable individuals — from harm. These standards are non-negotiable and are enforced rigorously to ensure that Chatsapp remains a safe, respectful, and secure environment for everyone.
Threats, Violence & Harm
We strictly prohibit all of the following:
Any content that promotes, glorifies, or encourages self-harm is strictly prohibited. This includes the endorsement or normalisation of self-injury, self-mutilation, suicide, eating disorders, or any behaviour that presents harm to oneself as acceptable, aspirational, or a solution to personal difficulties. We recognise that conversations around mental health can be complex and sensitive; however, content that actively encourages harmful behaviour or romanticises self-destructive actions will not be permitted. Our priority is to protect vulnerable individuals and ensure that Chatsapp does not become a space where dangerous behaviours are amplified or validated.
We do not tolerate violent or threatening behaviour of any kind. This includes any content, message, image, video, or statement that expresses an intention to cause serious physical harm, emotional harm, or damage to property against an individual, a group of people, or a community. Threats — whether direct, indirect, conditional, or implied — are treated seriously. Where content indicates a credible and imminent threat to human life or public safety, we may take immediate action, including restricting accounts and notifying appropriate law enforcement authorities in accordance with UK law.
Vigilante activity is also prohibited. This includes coordinated efforts to harass, intimidate, expose, or take physical action against individuals or communities outside of lawful processes. Encouraging “mob justice,” doxxing, or organised harassment undermines the rule of law and puts real people at risk. Chatsapp is not a platform for retaliation or extrajudicial action.
We further prohibit the encouragement or participation in dangerous behaviour that could reasonably result in serious harm. This includes promoting or engaging in high-risk challenges, reckless driving, hazardous stunts, or other activities that may be imitated and pose a threat to personal or public safety. Content that treats life-threatening behaviour as entertainment, trend-driven, or trivial will be removed.
Any content that glorifies, incites, or celebrates violence toward people or animals is strictly banned. This includes language, imagery, or behaviour that encourages aggression, cruelty, or harm. Gratuitous or graphic depictions of violence — including physical assaults, severe injuries, or animal abuse — are not permitted on our platform.
Chatsapp is committed to fostering a community grounded in safety, respect, and accountability. Content that promotes harm, intimidation, cruelty, or reckless endangerment has no place here.
Hateful Content, Terrorism and Violent Extremism
We strictly prohibit all of the following:
Terrorism, violent extremism, or organised hate. Terrorist organisations, extremist groups, and violent hate movements are strictly prohibited from using our platform. We do not permit any content that supports, promotes, glorifies, or advances acts of terrorism or violent extremism, whether carried out by individuals or organised groups in pursuit of ideological, political, or religious objectives.
This includes any material that praises terrorist acts, shares propaganda, promotes recruitment, raises funds, provides assistance, or encourages participation in extremist activity. Content that signals support for organisations recognised by credible authorities and independent experts as terrorist or extremist groups is strictly forbidden. Chatsapp is not a space for radicalisation, recruitment, or the spread of violent ideology.
We also prohibit hate speech and hateful conduct in all forms. Content that demeans, dehumanises, defames, or incites discrimination or violence against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics will not be tolerated. Protected characteristics include race, colour, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, immigration status, socio-economic background, age, pregnancy status, or any other inherent personal trait.
This includes the use of racial, ethnic, misogynistic, transphobic, or homophobic slurs, as well as content designed to mock, belittle, or call for discrimination against protected groups. Memes, coded language, or “jokes” that promote hostility or exclusion fall under this prohibition. Intentional deadnaming or misgendering used to harass or degrade someone is also considered a violation.
Hate speech further includes endorsing perpetrators of historical or modern atrocities, or disparaging victims of events such as genocide, slavery, apartheid, or other large-scale human rights abuses. The use, display, or distribution of hate symbols, imagery, or insignia intended to represent or promote hatred or discrimination is strictly banned.
Chatsapp is built on the principles of dignity, safety, and equal respect. Content that promotes hatred, division, violence, or extremism undermines those principles and will not be permitted on our platform.
Harassment and Bullying
We strictly prohibit all of the following:
Bullying and harassment have no place on Chatsapp. We are committed to creating a platform where users feel safe, respected, and confident expressing themselves without fear of intimidation or humiliation. Harmful behaviour can take many forms, which is why we take a comprehensive approach — combining clear policies, consistent enforcement, thoughtful product design, and accessible reporting tools to help prevent abuse before it escalates.
At a minimum, our rules prohibit demeaning, defamatory, threatening, or discriminatory content and conduct. We do not allow behaviour intended to shame, embarrass, humiliate, or emotionally harm another person. Harassment can include repeated unwanted messages, verbal abuse, intimidation, spreading rumours, or any conduct that would cause a reasonable person to experience distress.
We also strictly prohibit the sharing of private information without consent. This includes posting or distributing someone’s personal details — such as their home address, phone number, email, date of birth, workplace, or other identifying information — without their knowledge or permission. Respect for personal privacy is fundamental to maintaining a safe community.
Sharing images or videos of individuals in private settings without their consent is also prohibited. This includes locations where people reasonably expect privacy, such as bathrooms, bedrooms, changing rooms, locker rooms, medical facilities, or assisted living environments. Extra care must always be taken when content involves vulnerable individuals, including minors, older adults, or those receiving medical care.
Our platform design also supports safer interactions. For example, certain communication features may require mutual connection or acceptance before messaging can begin, helping to reduce unwanted contact and limit potential abuse.
Users are expected to respect boundaries. If someone blocks you, you must not attempt to contact them through another account or alternative method. If someone featured in your content asks for it to be removed, you should respect that request. Consent and personal dignity matter.
We strongly encourage users to report harassment, bullying, or privacy violations when they experience or witness them. Our moderation teams review reports carefully and take appropriate action to uphold our standards. By reporting harmful behaviour, users play an important role in helping us maintain a respectful and secure environment.
Chatsapp is built on mutual respect. Behaviour intended to intimidate, shame, expose, or harm others undermines that foundation and will not be tolerated.
Illegal or Regulated Activities
We strictly prohibit all of the following:
Promotion, facilitation, coordination, or participation in criminal activity of any kind. This includes, but is not limited to, the buying, selling, advertising, distributing, or exchanging of illegal or regulated substances, controlled drugs, counterfeit goods, stolen property, weapons, or other contraband.
It also includes the distribution of illegal material such as child sexual abuse content, the trade of endangered animals or wildlife products, and any activity connected to organised crime. Any attempt to use the platform to coordinate fraud, scams, identity theft, financial exploitation, or other criminal schemes will result in immediate action.
We further prohibit any content or behaviour that promotes or facilitates exploitation. This includes human trafficking, sex trafficking, forced labour, coercive practices, or the recruitment or transportation of individuals for exploitative purposes. Chatsapp will not tolerate the use of its services to harm or exploit vulnerable individuals.
Certain goods, services, and industries are regulated under UK law and may not be promoted or sold on Chatsapp without proper authorisation and legal compliance. This includes activities such as online gambling, the sale or promotion of alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, controlled substances, or other age-restricted or licensed services. Users and businesses are responsible for ensuring that their activity complies with applicable laws and regulations before engaging in commercial activity on our platform.
We are committed to helping our community understand the risks associated with illegal or high-risk online behaviour. Through partnerships, educational initiatives, and in-app safety information, we aim to raise awareness about scams, exploitation tactics, and other threats to user safety. Preventative education is a key part of our approach to keeping the platform secure.
Where appropriate and in accordance with UK law, we cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory authorities in response to valid legal requests relating to criminal activity on the platform. Protecting our users and maintaining the integrity of Chatsapp requires vigilance, accountability, and a firm stance against unlawful conduct.
Chatsapp is designed for positive connection and lawful engagement. Any attempt to misuse it for criminal purposes will be addressed swiftly and decisively.
Harmful False or Deceptive Practices
Creating a trustworthy information environment is fundamental to Chatsapp. Deception, manipulation, and misinformation can erode confidence, endanger users, and damage public trust. For that reason, we take a firm stance against harmful false information, fraud, impersonation, and spam.
Our policies are designed not only to address content that is factually incorrect, but also content that has the potential to cause real-world harm. The intent behind misinformation may vary, but the consequences can be serious. Where content distorts facts in a way that threatens safety, public confidence, or individual wellbeing, we take action.
1. Harmful False Information
We prohibit the sharing of false or misleading information where it poses a risk of harm.
This includes:
- Denying or distorting well-documented tragic events or historical atrocities.
- Promoting unverified or debunked medical claims that could endanger health or public safety.
- Spreading misleading information about civic or democratic processes, including elections, referendums, or public participation requirements.
- Manipulating media — including through deceptive editing, synthetic media, or generative AI — in ways that mislead users about real events or real people.
- We recognise that information can evolve, particularly in areas such as science, health, and world affairs. However, content that deliberately undermines credible evidence, promotes conspiracy theories tied to harm, or attempts to destabilise public processes will not be permitted.
- False information that interferes with civic participation — such as misrepresenting voting procedures, eligibility, or official outcomes — is treated with particular seriousness. Democratic processes rely on public trust, and content designed to mislead or intimidate voters has no place on our platform.
2. Fraud, Impersonation and Deceptive Conduct
Trust is essential to any online community. We strictly prohibit fraudulent and deceptive practices that exploit users for financial gain, personal data, or other advantages.
This includes:
- Scams of any kind, including phishing schemes and financial fraud.
- “Get-rich-quick” schemes, pyramid schemes, or multi-level marketing operations presented deceptively.
- The sale or promotion of counterfeit goods, fraudulent documents, or illegitimate services.
- Money laundering, money mule activity, or the transfer of unlawfully obtained funds.
- Undisclosed paid promotions or misleading commercial endorsements.
- Impersonation is also prohibited. Users may not misrepresent themselves as another individual, business, public figure, brand, or organisation. Creating accounts designed to deceive others about your identity — including pretending to be friends, celebrities, companies, or Chatsapp itself — is a serious violation.
- Authenticity matters. Deception undermines safety.
3. Spam and Artificial Manipulation
- Spam damages the user experience and weakens trust in online interactions. We prohibit unsolicited, repetitive, or artificially amplified activity intended to manipulate engagement or visibility.
This includes:
- Bulk messaging or repetitive content distribution.
- Artificially inflating followers, likes, or engagement through paid schemes or automated tools.
- Promoting spam applications or deceptive growth services.
- Coordinated attempts to manipulate platform visibility or trending activity.
Chatsapp is designed for genuine connection and meaningful communication. Artificial amplification, engagement manipulation, and mass unsolicited outreach run counter to that purpose.
Our Commitment
We combine clear policies with product safeguards and responsible platform design to reduce the spread of harmful information and deceptive practices. Where appropriate and in line with UK law, we cooperate with relevant authorities in response to lawful requests concerning criminal or harmful activity.
Chatsapp exists to foster authentic connection and informed dialogue. Content that misleads, exploits, impersonates, or manipulates others undermines that mission — and will not be tolerated.
Thank you for understanding our community guidelines and we hope all users in our community can come together to build a more self respected platfrom, we will enjoy having you in our community!
